March Wrap-Up

Okay, so March was the worst reading months I had in a long time where I only finished two books. Three books I started, restarted, and still have little idea to what the book was about. So, it wasn't the best month for me. Part of it is because I moved at the end of the month. So my life (and my books - only 9 giant plastic tote bins, plus a few misc. books in other boxes, not much at all!) was packed up and move to a different city. Commute will suck, but better living conditions. So that led to only two books being read this month. My former being far ahead in my reading goal, now has me behind, and all my books are in boxes. I'm itching for the time to re-shelve them.

The Books

With only two books that were read in the month, it's easy to pick the favourite and least favourite of the month. Shannon wins for favourite - although I prefer the author's other works, this one is still a good book. Galveston wins for least favourite - which was a book that didn't work for me at all. Not what I expected.

1) Galveston - Paul Quarrington - 3.5/10
2) Shannon - Frank Delaney - 7.75/10

The Challenges

Since I only read two books this month I didn't make too much progress on my challenges. Although, it does look like I'll finish the War Through the Generations Challenge this year. I'm still happy with my progress and  should be able to finish all my challenges and personal goals this year, as long as I don't have a month like this. I believe there is another reading challenge coming up, so that should help.

Countries Visited

The only new place I went to this month was a fictional Caribbean island. I also travelled to Ireland.

Books that Followed Me Home

Even with the move, 11 books still followed me home! Opps! I bought 5 of the leatherbound books Barns and Nobles has. And luckily for me Chapters/Indgio has started selling them, so all but the fairy tale books came locally. I hope to see more of the books come too!

The Complete Fairy Tales of Hans Christian Anderson (Leatherbound)
Grimm Fairy Tales (Leatherbound)
Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte (Leatherbound)
Wuthering Heights - Emily Bronte (Leatherbound)
Alice's Adventures in Wounderland and Other Stories - Lewis Carroll (Leatherbound)

The Bishops Man - Linden Macintyre
Under the Hawthorne Tree - Ai Mi
Requiem for a Dream - Hubert Shelby, Jr. (EBook)
The Penguin Book of Irish Short Stories
The Penguin Book of Scottish Short Stories
The Penguin Book of Welsh Short Stories

And that was my march. Happy Reading!
