Library Loot - Jan 6 '10

Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Eva (A Striped Arm Chair) and Marg (ReadingAdventures) that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post-feel free to steal the button-and link it using the Mr. Linky  on the Library Loot Page any time during the week. And of course check out what other participants are getting from their libraries!

This week was a fairly good week for me at the library, as all seven holds I had came in, all on the same day! Yes! In total for the week I nabbed six books and a DVD from the library. The DVD was Dr. Horrible's Sign-along Blog. It's not really book related, but it was a rather interesting movie. I'm a huge fan of Joss Whedon, so I had to get my hands on it.

The other six books I grabbed from the library were;
  • The End of the Alphabet - CS Richardson (which I've already finished, review up later)
  • The Housekeeper and the Professor by Yoko Ogawa
  • The Professor by Charlotte Bronte
  • The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes - Sir Arthur Canon Doyle (This book is BRAND NEW, still has the new book smell, hasnt been cracked, torn, the date on the book says December 2009, so I'm pretty sure I'm the first, or one of the first to get the book! It's going to be real hard to return it!)
  • The Little Giant of Aberdeen County by Tiffany Baker
  • Pandora's Star by Peter Hamilton (I'm hoping to participate in the library's SciFi/Fantasy Book club in Feb, and this is the book choice)
Returned Books
I only had one book checked out, which was Julie & Julia (review will be up later today), but not even through the selections I have now, and am looking to see what books I could check out for the next library run. Also I'm torn between digging into The House Keeper and the Professor or Tale of Two Cities (it's not a library book, but it's just been calling out to me, I've never read anything by Charles Dickens before, yet I own six novels by him.) for my next read. Sherlock Holmes is also calling to me Sigh, so many books, so little time

  4. I loved Dr Horrible's Sing-a-long Blog when I saw it last year!

    Getting a never been read before book from library is one of my favourite things. New book smell without the new book price tag! LOL!

  5. I'm patiently waiting for The Housekeeper and the Professor to arrive. :p But I did get over 20 other books, lol, so I can't be too jealous!

  6. 20 other books in one visit!? Oh my! How do you manage to keep track all of those? I think the most I've ever checked out at one given time was 11. But on the plus side, at least you'll have lots of options for books to read!
